Edinburg library to host spring break programs for children and teens

Edinburg, TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library will host a week of activities for children and teens during its “Spring Break at the Library” program in March. The schedule includes educational presentations, movie screenings, storytime sessions and hands-on crafts designed to provide family-friendly activities during the school holiday.
Children’s programs
Children’s programming will begin Saturday, March 14, with an “In the Know!” presentation titled “Learn About ‘Punch the Monkey’” scheduled for noon. The event will introduce participants to the topic through an educational program.
On Sunday, March 15, the library will screen the animated film “Trolls Band Together” at 3 p.m. The following activities include a World Down Syndrome Day program scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, at 6 p.m.
The library will also host Spring Break Family Storytime sessions on March 16 and March 20 at 2 p.m., as well as additional evening storytime programs on March 18 and March 19 at 6 p.m.
Teen activities
The library will also offer craft and creative workshops for teens during the spring break week. Activities begin Monday, March 16, with a “Sew a Felt Panda Bookmark” craft session at 2 p.m.
Additional teen programs include “Punch the Monkey Charm” on March 17 at 2 p.m., a “Paper Roller Coaster” activity on March 18 at 2 p.m. and a “TMNT Ninja Turtle Keychain” craft workshop on March 19 at 2 p.m. The schedule will conclude with a “DIY Airplane Challenge” on March 20 at 2 p.m.
Participation information
Library officials said all programs are open to the public and no registration is required. Participants may attend by arriving at the library during scheduled event times.
All activities will take place at the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library, located at 1906 S. Closner Blvd.
