Staff Report
EDINBURG TX – The Edinburg Police Department will celebrate the 29th Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5 at 6 p.m. at the Promenade Park Amphitheater, located at 201 W. McIntyre St.
The event, a longstanding community tradition, aims to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the public through a family-friendly evening of entertainment, safety education, and local engagement. Highlights include live music performances by The Fabulous Cruisers and a special appearance by Edinburg native and Tejano music star Bobby Pulido.
“We’re proud to continue this tradition that brings our community and officers together,” said Police Chief Jaime Ayala. “National Night Out is more than just a celebration — it’s about building trust, sharing safety resources, and making lasting connections.”
This year’s event will also feature a car show, carnival rides, children’s games, and local food vendors. Free backpacks will be distributed to school-aged children while supplies last.
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
