Com. Torres to Host Streetlight Celebration in Colonia San Clemente on Wednesday, Oct. 29

Staff Report
Edinburg, TX – Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres will host a Streetlight Celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m. to commemorate the installation of six new streetlights in Colonia San Clemente, located at 7916 San Clemente Ave. in Edinburg.
The project benefits 46 residential lots and is part of the Hidalgo County Unincorporated Subdivision Streetlight Program, an ongoing effort to improve safety, visibility, and quality of life in rural and underserved areas.
Commissioner Torres credited the collaboration between San Clemente residents, Hidalgo County staff, and La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE) for making the project possible. LUPE’s grassroots advocacy was instrumental in advancing the installation through community engagement and partnership with county officials.
The celebration will bring together residents, local leaders, and project supporters to recognize the importance of lighting infrastructure in promoting neighborhood safety and community pride.
