Edinburg, TX – A Texas favorite in fine jewelry is making its way to Edinburg. James Avery Artisan Jewelry, the family-owned brand known for its handcrafted designs and meaningful charms, is set to open its first Edinburg location at The Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley.
The new 3,300-square-foot store will occupy half of the former Lane Bryant space next to Ross at 427 E. Trenton Road. Construction is expected to begin in December 2025, with completion targeted for March 2026.
“We’re thrilled to welcome James Avery Artisan Jewelry to The Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley,” said John Toic, president of First Hartford Realty Corporation, developer of The Shoppes. “They are a beloved Texas brand with a loyal following, and their addition further strengthens the diverse retail mix that continues to make The Shoppes one of the region’s premier shopping destinations.”
Edinburg Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Raudel Garza also welcomed the addition, noting that the retailer’s arrival marks another milestone in the city’s growing retail landscape. “This will be their first location in our city, and we know they have been wanting to join our community for some time now,” Garza said.
Founded in 1954 by James Avery in Kerrville, Texas, the company began as a small operation in a two-car garage with a vision to create jewelry that held meaning and craftsmanship. Over the past seven decades, James Avery Artisan Jewelry has grown into one of the state’s most respected brands, with more than 100 stores across Texas and the southern United States. Its pieces—often featuring Christian symbols, nature-inspired motifs, and custom engravings—have become known for their quality, sentimentality, and timeless design.
With the new Edinburg store, local customers will soon be able to experience the brand’s signature craftsmanship and service closer to home.
