Edinburg Fire Department to Host Community Preparedness Chat

EDINBURG, TX — The Edinburg Fire Department’s Emergency Management team will host a community preparedness event on Thursday, Aug. 28, aimed at helping residents take proactive steps to stay safe during emergencies.

The session, titled Readiness is Resilience, will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at 107 Café, 4129 W. University Drive. Community members will have the opportunity to meet local emergency management personnel, ask questions, and receive guidance on building personal preparedness plans.

Organizers said the informal “Community Preparedness Chat” is designed to give residents practical tips for protecting their families and homes in the event of a disaster. Attendees will also learn about local resources, including the city’s 311 help and information system.

City officials emphasized that small steps taken today can make a significant difference when emergencies occur.
