Edinburg City Election Ballot Set

Edinburg, TX – The ballot positions for the upcoming November Edinburg municipal election are set as candidates filed yesterday for their position on the ballot at Edinburg City Hall.
For the mayoral contest, four candidates have filed for the position. At the ballot position drawing held by Clarice Yvette Balderas, City Secretary, and her staff, candidates were asked to draw a sealed number from a bowl. The positions drawn were as follows:
- Position 1: Johnny Garcia
- Position 2: Richard Molina
- Position 3: Jonathan Salinas
- Position 4: Omar Ochoa
For the City Council, Place 1 race, the positions drawn were as follows:
- Position 1: Daniel “Dan” Diaz
- Position 2: Smiley Martinez
For the City Council, Place 2 race, the positions drawn were as follows:
- Position 1: Jason De Leon
- Position 2: Eddie Badillo
- Position 3: Moises Segovia
According to the Texas Secretary of State’s office, voters need to keep the following registration and voting deadlines in mind:
- Voter Registration Deadline: Monday, October 6, 2025
- First Day of Early Voting (in person): Monday, October 20, 2025
- Last Day to Apply for a Mail Ballot: Friday, October 24, 2025
- Last Day of Early Voting (in person): Friday, October 31, 2025
- Election Day: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 (polls typically open 7 a.m.–7 p.m.)
- Last Day to Receive Ballot by Mail: Tuesday, November 4, 2025, by 7 p.m. (if not postmarked, or by November 5 if postmarked by Election Day)
- Cure Provisional Ballot/ID Issues: Monday, November 10, 2025
- Runoff Election (if needed): Saturday, December 13, 2025
