Police Investigating Two Early Morning Robberies in Edinburg

EDINBURG TX — Police are investigating two separate armed robberies that occurred early Wednesday morning, including one targeting a local smoke shop and another involving a pedestrian reportedly robbed at gunpoint.
The first incident occurred around 12:56 a.m. at Nine Tails Smoke Shop in the 3700 block of North Doolittle Road. According to Edinburg police, three suspects arrived in a white Cadillac CTS. One entered the store asking about CBD products but left after the clerk requested identification.
Shortly after, the suspects returned. Two entered the shop with handguns, and a third suspect, armed with a knife, demanded CBD products. Police said one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the clerk while others removed cash from the register and took merchandise. The suspects fled northbound approximately 30 seconds later. The clerk was not injured and immediately reported the robbery to police and the store owner.
Less than an hour later, at about 1:53 a.m., officers responded to a second robbery in the 1600 block of West McIntyre Street. A male victim told police he was walking while using his phone when an unidentified suspect approached him and robbed him at gunpoint. The suspect reportedly took a gold chain and a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.
