Edinburg Cultural Arts Launches Mariachi Guitar Classes, New ACE Membership Program

Edinburg TX – The City of Edinburg Cultural Arts Department has launched a new Mariachi Guitar class program and an ACE Membership Program at the Edinburg ACE Center, 315 W. McIntyre St.

Mariachi Guitar Classes

The four-week Mariachi Guitar program, led by instructor Manuel Lopez of UTRGV Mariachi Aztlán, runs Aug. 12 through Sept. 16, with classes held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Class dates are Aug. 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and Sept. 2, 9, and 16. Registration deadline is Aug. 12.

Two sessions are offered:

• Session 1, Beginner: Adults, 4:30 to 6 p.m.
• Session 2, Intermediate: Adults, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.

Each session is 90 minutes and part of the four-week program. Capacity is limited to 15 students per session, with a minimum of 8 students required per class. Acoustic guitars, music stands, and guitar stands are provided during class hours. The program will culminate in a live performance. Cost is $120 plus tax per participant.

ACE Membership Program

ACE Memberships are now available through edinburgarts.com. The following membership tiers are offered:

• Trial Membership (free): Includes mobile app access and online class registration
• Access Member ($12 per month or $120 per year): Includes early event notifications, early ticket purchases, early event entry, and 20% off all center-sold items
• Friends and Family Access ($20 per month or $200 per year): Extends all standard Access perks to up to five registered individuals
• Studio Member ($39 per month or $399 per year): Includes all standard Access perks plus unlimited studio access during non-class hours by reservation; annual Studio members are also eligible for secure on-site storage for equipment and instruments

A standard membership provides access to ACE Classrooms for Open Studio use, available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds support ACE programming.
