Edinburg Police Department Investigating Indecency With a Child Case

Edinburg TX – The Edinburg Police Department is investigating a case involving multiple counts of indecency with a child following the arrest of a local pastor.

On July 27, 2026, law enforcement officials arrested the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Jorge Gonzalez Martinez. The arrest was executed without incident. Martinez was identified as a pastor from McAllen.

According to investigators, the initial police report was filed earlier this month. The alleged incidents are reported to have occurred between March and April of 2025.

Martinez was arraigned on July 28, 2026, on four counts of indecency with a child. Bond was set at $300,000.
