Edinburg TX – The Edinburg CISD Board of Trustees held a special called meeting for this past Saturday to hold interviews with potential candidates for the vacant Superintendent position. No action was taken, but announced that a second round of interviews would be held at a later time.

With Board President Xavier Salinas absent during the meeting, Board Vice-President Carmen Gonzalez chaired the meeting. Upon convening at 8:00 A.M., the Board immediately went into a closed-door executive session.

After emerging almost seven hours later, the board reconvened into open session. Legal counsel Ben Castillo said, “ Madam Chair, members of the board, with respect to item five A-1, at this time the Board will be moving on to the second round of interviews, and that meeting will be posted forthcoming, so this item requires no action.” No further information was provided.

The Board then adjourned without an action.
