Edinburg Police Arrest Suspect in Series of March Business Burglaries

EDINBURG, Texas – Edinburg Police investigators, working in coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies, have arrested a suspect in connection with a series of business burglaries reported across the city in March.
Maximiano Guadalupe Maldonado, 39, of Edinburg, has been charged with seven counts of burglary of a building, according to authorities.
Investigation and Arrest
Police said the investigation was conducted in collaboration with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and the McAllen Police Department.
The charges stem from incidents reported at businesses located along the 2900 block of North Business 281 extending south, as well as along East Schunior and Richardson roads.
Allegations
Authorities allege that in each case, forced entry was used to gain access to the businesses, with money and small items reported stolen.
Charges and Bond
A magistrate has set Maldonado’s total bond at $110,000 for the seven burglary counts.
