Edinburg EDC, UTRGV to host Kauffman FastTrac business training program

Edinburg, TX – The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center, is accepting applications for the upcoming Kauffman FastTrac Program.
The in-person course will be held at the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation Training Room, 617 W. University Dr., and will run for seven sessions in English from March 24 through May 5, 2026. Classes are scheduled Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Program structure
The Kauffman FastTrac curriculum is designed to guide participants from business concept to execution. The program focuses on identifying market needs, understanding business fundamentals and exploring local economic conditions.
Participants will examine business viability by assessing risk and success factors, conducting market research and aligning ventures with market needs. The course also addresses business plan development, building professional networks and accessing business resources.
Course content includes business planning, marketing, sales, financial management and critical thinking. Organizers state the program emphasizes hands-on instruction and real-world application with experienced facilitators.
Partnership and sponsorship
The Edinburg EDC is partnering with UTRGV’s Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center to facilitate the program. Participants may apply for sponsorship support through the Edinburg EDC.
