Edinburg TX – Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres will host a free Back-to-School Health and Wellness Fair on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Precinct 4 Endowment Community Resource Center, 107 N. Sunflower Rd., Edinburg.

The event will offer free haircuts for students, free school supplies while supplies last, vaccinations for $5 or at no cost with qualifying insurance, health and wellness information, community resources, and educational materials and family support services.

“Preparing children for school goes beyond purchasing supplies,” Commissioner Torres said. “By bringing health services, community resources, and school essentials together in one place, we hope to make the back-to-school season a little easier for families while helping students begin the school year healthy, confident, and ready to learn.”

Participating organizations include ACCESS Esperanza Clinics, Texas Health Steps, Genesis Primary Home Health, Proactive Clinical Research, Texas A&M University School of Public Health, South Texas Research Institute, RIVA Institute of Cosmetology, UTRGV Center for Genome Research, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, mcnadental, MHP Salud, Molina Healthcare, Agua Dental, Pro-Salud, Boys and Girls Club of McAllen, and Rio Bank.
