Los Muertos Bailan Festival Kicks Off On Friday With Mariachi Celebration ‘Canta Y No Llores’

Edinburg, TX – The City of Edinburg Cultural Arts Department will launch its 11th Annual Los Muertos Bailan Festival with Canta Y No Llores, an all-day mariachi celebration set for Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at the Edinburg Arts, Culture and Events (ACE) Center, 315 W. McIntyre St. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and features live music, competitions and cultural showcases.

Attendees can enjoy a Mariachi Vocal Masterclass at 10 a.m., a Mariachi Voice Competition at 1 p.m., and a Mariachi Invitational Showcase beginning at 5 p.m. The celebration continues into the evening with food and artisan vendors lining McIntyre Street and live outdoor performances at the Promenade Park Amphitheater from 6 to 10 p.m.

Admission for Canta Y No Llores is $10 per individual event or $30 for full-day registration. The event is part of Edinburg’s expanded two-day Los Muertos Bailan celebration, which honors Día de los Muertos through music, art and cultural expression.

Hosted in collaboration with the South Texas Music & Cultural Arts Foundation, the mariachi festival celebrates the region’s vibrant musical heritage while giving students and performers a platform to share their talent.
