Staff Report

EDINBURG, TX – Hidalgo County Precinct 4 and the AltaCair Foundation will host a free San Carlos Community Health Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Carlos (Precinct 4) Endowment Center, 107 Sunflower Rd. in Edinburg.

Organizers said the event aims to encourage healthy lifestyles, help prevent and manage disease, and connect residents with local services. Free health screenings will be available—attendees seeking lab services are asked to arrive fasting. The fair will also feature educational resources, workforce development opportunities, emergency-preparedness information and other community services.

“Our goal is to create a healthier, more informed community by bringing together health professionals, community organizations and workforce partners in one place,” Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres said. The center’s director called the fair an opportunity for residents to take charge of their health by linking to nearby providers and programs.

According to the event flyer, participating partners include Quest Diagnostics, DHR Health, UTRGV, Driscoll organizations, MyCHN, VIDA, VBC Innovations, Food Bank RGV and Unidos Contra la Diabetes, among others. The event is free and open to the public, and residents of all ages are encouraged to attend.
