Edinburg TX – South Texas Health System Edinburg is being celebrated by the City of Edinburg after earning national recognition from U.S. News & World Report.

STHS Edinburg was named a Best Regional Hospital for 2026-2027 by U.S. News & World Report, marking the fifth consecutive year the hospital has earned a place on the list. STHS Edinburg remains the only hospital in the Rio Grande Valley to receive the regional recognition during that five-year span.

The hospital was also recognized as a Best Regional Hospital for Community Access for the third consecutive year, a distinction given to hospitals that provide quality care to underserved and diverse populations. STHS Edinburg is one of only 73 hospitals nationwide, and five in Texas, to receive that honor.

The Edinburg Mayor and City Council presented a proclamation during a recent city council meeting honoring STHS Edinburg for its continued dedication to providing healthcare to the community. Representatives from STHS Edinburg were present to accept the proclamation on behalf of the organization.

The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce congratulated South Texas Health System Edinburg on the achievements and thanked the City of Edinburg for recognizing the organization’s impact on the health and well-being of the community.
