Edinburg Man Charged with Aggravated Assault After Stabbing Incident, Barricade Situation

Edinburg TX – A 27-year-old Edinburg man has been charged with aggravated assault with a weapon on a family member, a first-degree felony, following a stabbing incident on July 23, 2026, in rural Edinburg.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s deputies responded at approximately 2:40 p.m. to the 10500 block of Hernandez Drive after a 911 call reporting a family disturbance involving a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies located the adult female victim at a neighbor’s residence, where she had fled after the incident. She sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect, Noe Garza, briefly barricaded himself inside the residence before deputies took him into custody without further incident. A male witness at the scene was also transported to a local hospital after being exposed to heat and humidity, an unrelated medical condition.

Garza was arraigned on the charge and bond was set at $5,000.
