Two Teens Arrested in Overnight Edinburg Shooting

edinburg, tx – Two juveniles are in custody after an early morning shooting Monday that left two people injured near Cristobal Drive and Trenton Road, according to the Edinburg Police Department.
Police said they received a call around 12:19 a.m. from a male who reported that he and another person had been shot. Officers conducted a search of the area on foot and with a drone unit before two juveniles turned themselves in to authorities.
Investigators later determined the incident began as a drug deal that escalated into gunfire. The victims were taken to McAllen Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and are reported to be in stable condition.
The juveniles are facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police did not release additional details, including the suspects’ ages or names.
