‘She Succeeds’ job fair set for Sept. 30 at Edinburg library

Edinburg, TX – A series of women-focused career workshops at the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library will culminate with the “She Succeeds” Job Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event, organized in partnership with Sisters Inspiring Success, Workforce Solutions and the Prairie View A&M Cooperative Extension Program, will bring together more than two dozen employers from across the region.
Participating businesses and agencies range from health care providers such as DHR Health, Driscoll Children’s Hospital and Knapp Medical Center to public sector employers including the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, U.S. Border Patrol and Hidalgo County. Retailers Walmart, TJ Maxx and Walgreens will also be on hand, along with higher education institutions such as South Texas College, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Wayland Baptist University.
Organizers said the workshops and job fair are designed to support women re-entering the workforce or seeking new opportunities. “Thank you to everyone who has been attending the She Succeeds workshops and making them a success,” event organizers noted in announcing the fair.
The job fair will be held at the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library, 1906 S. Closner Blvd. Admission is free and open to the public.
