Edinburg to Host DWI Awareness Meeting Ahead of Holiday Season

Edinburg, TX – The City of Edinburg will hold a DWI Awareness community meeting on Dec. 3 as part of an effort to highlight the dangers and long-term consequences of driving while intoxicated. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Edinburg City Hall, 415 W. University Drive.

The presentation is being organized in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Texas Department of Transportation’s Save a Life program and the Edinburg Police Department. City officials said the meeting is intended to encourage residents to plan ahead if they expect to drink during the holidays and to reinforce safe-driving practices.

The session will include information on impaired-driving trends, legal impacts and prevention strategies.
