Edinburg CISD to host FAFSA/TASFA Round-Up for seniors Dec. 2

Staff Report

Edinburg, TX – Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District will host a FAFSA/TASFA Round-Up for high school seniors and their parents on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the ECISD IT Building, 411 N. 8th Ave. in Edinburg. The event is open to students from all ECISD high schools, including Edinburg High, Edinburg North, Economedes, Robert Vela, and the College, Career & Technology Academy.

The workshop will guide families through the process of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA). These applications are essential for students seeking financial assistance for college, technical training, or university studies. Completing them can open access to grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and other forms of aid that do not have to be repaid.

Financial aid advisors and district staff will be on-site to answer questions and provide one-on-one support. To make the process smoother, students and parents should bring the following items:

  • Identification card or driver’s license
  • Social Security number (if applicable)
  • Date of birth
  • 2024 tax return information
  • FSA ID login credentials (for FAFSA users)
  • Permanent resident card (if applicable)

ECISD officials encourage all seniors to attend, even if they are undecided about postsecondary plans, as completing the FAFSA or TASFA is now a graduation requirement under Texas law.

For more information or assistance, families are encouraged to contact their high school financial aid officer or visit www.ecisd.us.
