Edinburg CISD Board to Elect New Officers, Review Contracts and Personnel at Nov. 11 Meeting

Edinburg, TX – The Edinburg CISD Board of Trustees will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at 6 p.m. to address a full agenda that includes annual officer reorganization, program recognitions, and several major contract approvals.
As part of its November tradition, the board will reorganize and elect new officers for the coming year. The current board leadership includes President David Torres, Vice President Carmen Gonzalez, and Secretary Letty Flores. Other trustees are Luis G. Alamia, Leticia “Letty” Garcia, Xavier Salinas, and Dominga “Minga” Vela.
The meeting will open with the invocation and pledges led by Trustee Xavier Salinas, followed by the superintendent’s report highlighting the ECISD School Health Advisory Council’s annual update, a Summit K12 recognition, and an enrollment report as of Nov. 7.
Under the consent agenda, trustees will consider several technology and instructional resource items, including the use of Canva for Education software, renewal of Learning.com’s EasyCode program, and approval of equipment services for special education classrooms. Additional contracts up for renewal or amendment include those for music supplies, library materials, and fire suppression system inspections.
The action agenda features a resolution casting ECISD’s votes for the Hidalgo County Appraisal District Board of Directors election for the 2026–2029 term. The board will also review items related to cybersecurity, communication systems, and library acquisitions, including a $333,800 purchase for print and digital materials through Region One ESC.
A closed session is scheduled to address personnel matters, including employment recommendations for a payroll coordinator and a new principal at Flores/Zapata Elementary School, as well as a Level III employee grievance.
The meeting will be held at the ECISD Administration Building and is open to the public.
