Edinburg TX – The UTRGV Nonprofit Resource Center is partnering with OneStar to host the 2026 RGV Nonprofit Summit.

This year’s summit, titled “Navigating with Purpose: Charting the Future of Nonprofits,” will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, at the Brownsville Events Center, located at 1 Events Center Boulevard.

The event will provide attendees the opportunity to meet nonprofit leaders from across the region, build connections and explore this year’s theme, which reflects the idea that “the future of the nonprofit sector isn’t fixed.”

“Nonprofits across the Rio Grande Valley are doing incredibly important work, while also navigating rapid change, from shifts in funding and technology to workforce challenges and growing community needs,” said Beverly Gonzales, program coordinator for UTRGV’s Nonprofit Resource Center.

Throughout the summit, attendees will explore timely topics, including leadership and organizational resilience, board governance, fundraising and resource development, financial readiness, collaboration and adapting to change.

Registration is $59 and includes access to keynote presentations by Suzanne Smith, founder and CEO of Social Impact Architects, and Millicent Boykin, vice president of Strategic Partnerships at OneStar, along with sessions featuring 13 breakout speakers from across Texas.

Gonzales said Smith’s keynote, “Nonprofit 2.0: Navigating the Waters Ahead,” will explore trends reshaping the nonprofit sector, while Boykin’s address, “Partners in Purpose: Building Relationships That Matter,” will focus on collaboration and relationships as an essential resource for strengthening communities.

“This summit is about bringing nonprofit leaders together to gain knowledge, build relationships and walk away with practical tools to navigate those changes with purpose. The future isn’t fixed, and we have an opportunity to help shape it by strengthening our organizations, learning from one another and working together,” Gonzales said.
