Edinburg Police, Faith Leaders Launch Blanket Drive for Families in Need

EDINBURG, TX — The Edinburg Police Department is partnering with local churches and community groups for the Faith & Blue Blanket Drive, an effort to collect new blankets for residents across the Rio Grande Valley.

Donations will be accepted at the following drop-off sites:

• Edinburg Police Department, 1702 S. Closner Blvd.
• First Lutheran Church, 302 S. Sugar Rd., Edinburg
• First Baptist Church, 201 E. Samano Rd., Edinburg
• Plenitud Center, 701 W. Eldora Rd., San Juan

The final collection day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Edinburg. Organizers stress that only new blankets will be accepted.

Collected items will be distributed to individuals and families in need throughout the Valley.
