Library to Host First-Ever Children’s Entomology Program

Staff Report

EDINBURG TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library, in partnership with the Texas Pest Management Association, will launch its first-ever Children’s Entomology Program later this month, featuring two weeks of educational and interactive activities centered around insects.

The program will run Monday through Friday at 10 a.m., beginning July 21 and continuing through August 1. Week one, titled “World of Bugs,” will be held from July 21 to July 25. The second week, “Bugs in Action,” will take place from July 28 to August 1.

Children will have the opportunity to explore the world of insects through hands-on activities, story time, guest presentations, and prizes. Organizers say the goal is to teach kids about beneficial bugs and common pests in a fun and engaging way.
