Edinburg Offers Bulky Item, Brush Collection Through April 15

Staff Report
EDINBURG TX — City of Edinburg residents have until April 15 to take advantage of a citywide bulky item and brush collection effort.
The drop-off program, available only to Edinburg residents, allows for the disposal of various household items at designated city locations. Roll-off containers are stationed at the Edinburg Recycling Center, located at 3102 US Highway Business 281, and are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Accepted items include tree branches, shrub trimmings, furniture, small amounts of sheetrock, carpets, plastic items like pools and toys, and limited numbers of tires—up to four regular tires or two 18-wheeler tires. Electronic waste such as televisions, computers, and car batteries is also accepted.
However, several items are prohibited. These include refrigerators, pesticides, household cleaners, motor oil, and flammable liquids such as gasoline, kerosene, lighter fluid, and diesel fuel.
The program is also supported by the city’s landfill, located at 8601 N. Jasman Road.
