Free Ballet Nepantla’s ‘Mística’ Performance Set for October 21 at UTRGV Performing Arts Center

A unique dance performance, “Mística,” will take the stage at the UTRGV Performing Arts Center on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Presented by Ballet Nepantla, the production blends traditional Mexican folklórico with contemporary dance, offering a tribute to ancestral heritage. The event is free to the community.

Founded by Andrea Guajardo and Martín Rodríguez, Ballet Nepantla is rooted in a fusion of classical ballet, contemporary dance, and Mexican folkloric traditions. “Mística” pays homage to Día De Muertos, celebrating indigenous, Afro, and Hispanic influences through an innovative use of blacklight and dance to transport the audience into the afterlife.
