Edinburg Night Of Lights Parade Theme Is ‘A Storybook Christmas’
EDINBURG, TX – The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce announced the return of the Edinburg Night of Lights Parade. Individuals, schools, businesses, and organizations are invited to participate in the festivities with this year’s theme “A Storybook Christmas.”
The community will be kicking off the holiday season on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 7 P.M. The parade route will be along North Closner Boulevard beginning at the corner of Mark S. Pena Dr and N. Closner Blvd (Richard Flores Stadium) and ending on the corner of W. McIntyre St. and N. Closner Blvd (Museum of South Texas History).
The Edinburg Chamber hopes to inspire the imaginations of children and promote the joy of reading by having participants decorate floats in the theme of their favorite children’s stories. In the true holiday spirit, the chamber asks participants to enhance their stories with festive cheer. For example, if the book selected is Winnie the Pooh, they would hope to see Pooh Bear with a Santa hat and float adorned with twinkling lights, a wreath, or some other form of holiday cheer.
The more lights the merrier! Award trophies and prize money will be given to competitive floats for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in Business/Civic, School and Marching Band divisions.
All participants must fill out a parade application and adhere to the parade theme. For more information on Edinburg Night of Lights or to sign up for a parade entry please call the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce at 956-383-4974 or visit www.edinburg.com
