Edinburg library announces spring break programs for children and teens

Edinburg, TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library will host a series of children’s and teen programs throughout March as part of its spring break activities. The schedule includes educational presentations, movie screenings, storytime sessions and hands-on craft activities designed for youth and families.
Children’s programs
Children’s events begin Saturday, March 14, with an “In the Know!” educational presentation titled “Learn About ‘Punch the Monkey’” scheduled for noon. The following day, March 15, the library will screen the animated film “Trolls Band Together” at 3 p.m.
Additional children’s activities include a World Down Syndrome Day event set for Tuesday, March 17, at 6 p.m. Spring Break Family Storytime sessions are scheduled for March 16 and March 20 at 2 p.m., along with additional sessions March 18 and March 19 at 6 p.m.
Teen activities
The library will also host a lineup of craft and creative programs for teens during spring break. Activities begin Monday, March 16, with a “Sew a Felt Panda Bookmark” craft session at 2 p.m.
Additional teen programs include “Punch the Monkey Charm” on March 17 at 2 p.m., a “Paper Roller Coaster” activity on March 18 at 2 p.m., and a “TMNT Ninja Turtle Keychain” craft on March 19 at 2 p.m. The week concludes with a “DIY Airplane Challenge” on Friday, March 20, at 2 p.m.
Location and access
All programs will take place at the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library, located at 1906 S. Closner Blvd. Library officials indicated that no registration is required and participants may attend by dropping in during scheduled program times.
