Edinburg library announces February schedule of children’s programs

Edinburg, TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library has released its schedule of children’s programs for February 2026, offering a variety of free activities for families throughout the month.
Weekly early childhood programs
Toddler Time will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24. The program is designed for young children and their caregivers. Pre-School Story Time is scheduled for Fridays at 10 a.m. on Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, focusing on stories and activities for preschool-aged children.
Programs for school-age children
Homeschool Hour, for children ages 6 to 11, will take place Wednesdays at 11 a.m. on Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25. Creature Club is scheduled for Thursdays at 6 p.m. during February. Topics include octopuses on Feb. 5, doves on Feb. 12, ducks on Feb. 19 and capybaras on Feb. 26.
Special events and learning programs
World Read Aloud Day will be observed Thursday, Feb. 5, with special guest sessions scheduled throughout the day. Programming includes appearances by the Edinburg Police Department at 10 a.m., the Edinburg Fire Department at 11 a.m., and a 5 p.m. session featuring local children’s author Rose Mendez. The library will also host its “In the Know” program on Saturdays at noon. Topics include Newstalgia on Feb. 14 and Black History Month on Feb. 28.
