Edinburg Native Completes Micro-Internship Focused on Economic Growth

Edinburg, TX – Carolina Cantu-Garcia, a finance student at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, recently completed a 20-hour micro-internship with the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation as part of the ENACTING Solutions Micro-Internship Initiative.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between UTRGV ENACTUS, Vantage Bank, the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, and the Edinburg EDC. It aims to provide students with hands-on experience in community and economic development through short-term, high-impact internships.
Cantu-Garcia, who was born and raised in Edinburg, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance. She is motivated by a deep interest in how financial systems influence local businesses and communities and aspires to contribute to regional economic growth through her future career.
During her internship with the Edinburg EDC, Cantu-Garcia supported marketing initiatives, offering creative input and valuable feedback that helped advance the organization’s priorities. EEDC officials praised her professionalism and dedication throughout the program.
