Staff Report
Edinburg, TX – The City of Edinburg is celebrating statewide recognition after its Communications & Media Department brought home three awards from the Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (TATOA) annual conference, held this month in The Woodlands.
The department earned first place in the Event/Program Promotion category for its production of former Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr.’s State of the City Address, a feature that spotlighted Edinburg’s accomplishments and vision through innovative, cinematic storytelling.
In addition, the team secured two third-place honors — one for Sustainability, recognizing coverage of fish habitat installations at the Edinburg World Birding Center, and another for Public Health for its video recap of Challenge RGV, a wellness initiative encouraging healthy lifestyles across the region.
“These awards reflect the talent, dedication, and creativity of our Communications & Media team,” said City Manager Myra Ayala. “Their work elevates our community’s stories and ensures our residents remain connected, informed, and proud of the place they call home.”
The City of Edinburg congratulates every team member involved in these award-winning projects and reaffirms its commitment to producing high-quality, impactful content that captures the heart and progress of the community.
