Edinburg Teams Headed to State, National Tournaments to Be Honored at Send-Off Event

EDINBURG TX – The City of Edinburg will host a send-off ceremony on Wednesday, July 24, for local athletes traveling to compete at major statewide and regional sporting events.

The celebration will take place at 9 a.m. at the Edinburg Activity Center, located at 123 Mark S. Peña Dr. The public is invited to attend and show support for the Edinburg TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) teams and the Harvest Christian Academy Varsity Girls Basketball team.

TAAF athletes will compete in the 2024 Games of Texas in Bryan-College Station, participating in events including track, tennis, golf, swimming, and boxing. Meanwhile, the Harvest Christian Academy varsity girls basketball team will travel to San Antonio to compete in the South Texas Championship, a key step on the road to national competition.
