TODAY: City of Edinburg Hosts FAFSA Senior Night to Support College-Bound Students

EDINBURG — The City of Edinburg, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) and Alfia Bilal, is hosting a FAFSA Senior Night to help high school seniors and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The event will take place on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library.

This free event aims to provide vital assistance to students navigating the financial aid process, a key step in accessing funding for higher education.

“FAFSA Senior Night is about breaking down barriers and empowering our students and families to navigate the financial aid process with confidence,” said Mayor Ramiro Garza. “By offering this support, we are investing in the future of our youth and their educational aspirations.”

What to Bring

Attendees are encouraged to bring the following documents for a smooth application process:

  • Identification card
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • FSA ID login information
  • 2023 tax return
  • Permanent resident card (if applicable)

Financial aid experts will be on hand to provide one-on-one guidance to ensure FAFSA forms are completed accurately and efficiently. The event is open to all high school seniors in Edinburg and their families.
