New adventures await members at the Edinburg Parks & Recreation this fall, as the restocked Edinburg Reading Room was unveiled. The room, sponsored by the Edinburg Rotary Club, features comfortable chairs, inspirational design, and dozens of new books.

“Instilling a love of reading at a young age will serve children well as they progress through school,” said Mike Tamez, Edinburg Rotary Club President.

More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. That’s 17 percent of the world’s adult population.

The goal of the Edinburg Foundation is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.

We support education for all children and literacy for children and adults.
