Edinburg TX – The Hidalgo County Mental Health Coalition will launch “Mind If We Talk?,” a new video podcast series designed to encourage open conversations about mental wellness while spotlighting local nonprofit organizations that provide mental health services to county residents. The series premieres Nov. 6.

The series will be hosted by Roxanne Ramírez-Cisneros, chair of the Hidalgo County Mental Health Coalition. Through a series of interviews, the initiative will introduce viewers to nonprofit organizations working to support the mental health and well-being of individuals and families, highlight the services they provide, and address misconceptions and stigmas that can prevent people from seeking help.

“Mental wellness is something that touches every family and every community,” said Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez. “Through these conversations, we want residents to know that resources are available, that asking for help is a sign of strength, and that no one should feel they have to face life’s challenges alone.”

“Open conversations can help reduce stigma and remind people that support is available,” said Ramírez-Cisneros. “This series gives our community partners an opportunity to share their knowledge, experiences and resources while helping residents feel more comfortable asking questions and seeking assistance. We hope these conversations encourage people to take the next step toward better mental wellness for themselves, their families and their communities.”

The series will begin with a conversation featuring two founding members of the Hidalgo County Mental Health Coalition, who will reflect on the coalition’s beginnings, its mission and the importance of collaboration in addressing mental health needs across the county. Subsequent episodes will spotlight local nonprofit organizations, including the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Episodes will be available on the Hidalgo County website, Spotify, iHeartRadio and Amazon Music. Residents are encouraged to follow Hidalgo County Judge Cortez’s social media channels for upcoming interviews, video highlights and additional information.
