Pee Wee, whose real name is Irvin Salinas Martinez, was born Dec. 8, 1988, and grew up in La Joya, Texas. He joined A.B. Quintanilla’s Kumbia Kings in 2003 at age 13 — the youngest member of the group — earning the nickname “Pee Wee” from Quintanilla himself. His first recording with the band was the 2004 single “Sabes a Chocolate.” The group performed at the 2005 Selena tribute concert Selena ¡VIVE! and won a Latin Grammy for Kumbia Kings Live.

After departing the Kumbia Kings, he became lead singer of Quintanilla’s Kumbia All Starz in 2006 before launching a solo career in 2008. His debut studio album, Yo Soy (2009), reached No. 1 on the U.S. Latin Pop chart. He has since released additional albums including Vive2Life (2013) and El PeeWee (2016).

The Los Muertos Bailan festival features live music, art, culture and festival food.
