Edinburg Extends Sandbag Distribution Through Friday Amid Flooding Threat

EDINBURG TX – The City of Edinburg will extend its sandbag distribution through Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, at the Edinburg Service Center, 1201 N. Doolittle Road.

City staff will load sandbags into vehicles upon arrival while supplies last. Once pre-filled bags run out, the site will shift to self-service, with sand, bags and shovels provided to residents.
The distribution is open to Edinburg residents and local businesses. Each household may receive up to six sandbags. Each business may receive up to eight sandbags. Proof of residency — a valid ID and utility bill — is required. Residents must live within city limits.
The city encouraged the community to plan ahead and take necessary precautions.
