Edinburg TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library has announced its Week 2 schedule of activities for the “Unearth a Story” Summer Reading Program 2026, running June 15 through June 19, with programming for children, teens and tweens, and adults.

Children’s Activities

Children’s programming runs at both 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The week’s schedule includes a culinary class on Dirt Cups on June 15, Toddler Time featuring Sleeping Dinosaur Chalk on June 16, a STEM session on building your own dinosaur on June 17, and a DIY Dino Puzzle art activity on June 18. The week concludes Friday, June 19, with a special guest appearance at 10 a.m. only.

Teens and Tweens Activities

Teen and tween programming includes Dino Embroidery at 6 p.m. on June 15 and Miniature Book Making at 2 p.m. on June 16. On June 17, two sessions are offered: a 2 p.m. session for ages 11 to 14 and a 6 p.m. session for ages 15 to 17. The week concludes June 18 with a STEM activity at 2 p.m. on making homemade ice cream.

Adult Activities

Adult programming includes an embroidery session at 2 p.m. on June 15, a nutrition class titled Taste of Latin presented in partnership with the Prairie View A&M University Extension at 2 p.m. on June 16, and Miniature Book Making at 6 p.m. on June 17.

The Summer Reading Program is presented by the Friends of the Edinburg Public Library, H-E-B, and the City of Edinburg Library and Cultural Arts. Families may register online at cityofedinburglibrary.beanstack.com or in person at the library, located at 1906 S. Closner Blvd.
