EDINBURG TX – The City of Edinburg Utilities Department is advising residents and businesses between El Cibolo Road and 0.5 miles north of El Rucio Road to boil water as a precautionary measure until further notice.

The advisory follows a water line break caused by a contractor working in the area who struck a main water line. Water service was temporarily shut down in the affected area to allow city crews to conduct necessary repairs.

Residents and businesses in the affected area are encouraged to follow standard boil water safety procedures until further notice:

• Bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth.
• Allow boiled water to cool prior to consumption or household use.
• Use bottled water for those unable to boil water.
