Edinburg to host ‘Senior de Mayo’ event for residents 55 and older

Edinburg, TX – The City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department will host its “Senior de Mayo” celebration May 5 for residents ages 55 and older at the Jose Nieto and Consuelo Alfaro Robledo Center.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the center, located at 700 S. Veterans Blvd.

Event details

According to the announcement, the Cinco de Mayo-themed event will include food, games and activities designed for older adults. Planned activities include arts and crafts, low-intensity exercise sessions and Loteria.

Attendance information

The event is free and open to community members ages 55 and older. Pre-registration is not required.

Organizers said attendees are encouraged to wear workout attire or holiday-themed clothing.
