Staff Report
Edinburg, TX – Edinburg will host Frida Fest 2026 on Saturday, March 14, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Promenade Park Amphitheater, 201 W. McIntyre St. The free public event will celebrate the legacy of artist Frida Kahlo with live music, dance, visual art, family activities, food vendors and themed contests.
Program details
The 13th annual festival will feature live entertainment on the Main Frida Stage and a second Arts for EveryBody Stage. The event will also include carnival rides, a kids zone, hands-on art activities, wellness art experiences and local artisan and food vendor booths.
Live Entertainment (Main Frida Stage)
Ache de Barrio brings high-energy Latin party vibes to FridaFest’s Main Frida Stage, known from past events as the Valley’s “Five Star Party Band” that gets crowds dancing with cumbia, tejano, and upbeat mixes. Expect a lively set blending regional Mexican sounds to energize the early evening (likely 6-8 p.m.).
Magali Delarosa headlines as the show-stopping closer around 10:00 p.m., delivering a powerful performance that caps the night. She’s a regional favorite with soulful vocals and dynamic stage presence, perfect for FridaFest’s celebratory mood—past headliners like Jenny & the Mexicats set a similar high bar.

Flamenco and Folklórico dances showcase Hispanic heritage through passionate, colorful performances of traditional Mexican folk dance. These rhythmic group routines (likely mid-evening) feature intricate footwork, flowing skirts, and live music, drawing from Edinburg’s cultural roots—common at past FridaFests.
The Arts for EveryBody Stage highlights local schools and studio groups with youth performances, community dance troupes, and emerging talent. This second stage (running parallel to the main acts) emphasizes inclusivity, featuring student folklorico, modern dance, or art demos—tied to the “Arts for EveryBody” initiative from prior years
Family activities
Organizers said the event is designed for all ages and will include interactive activities for children and families throughout the evening. The Arts for EveryBody Stage will feature performances by local schools, studio groups and community performers.

Festival activities will also include themed photo opportunities and chalk art. Organizers said attendees can expect family-oriented programming across the venue during the event.
Contests and vendors
A Frida Fashion Show will invite attendees to dress as Frida Kahlo and participate in a contest. Event information also references People’s Choice competitions connected to festival attire and riders if the FridaRiders Caravan returns.
The festival will also include visual art exhibits and booths featuring handmade goods by local artisans. Food vendors and food trucks are expected to offer a range of local items during the event.
