Edinburg police seek public’s help identifying vehicle in hit-and-run crash

Edinburg, TX – Edinburg police investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist critically injured on March 20, 2026.
According to the Edinburg Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 9:03 p.m. in the 700 block of East Chapin Road.
Police said Eric Lee Flores was riding a bicycle westbound in the eastbound lanes when he was struck by a dark-colored pickup truck described as a 1990s Chevrolet Silverado.
Vehicle description

Investigators said the suspected vehicle is a single cab, stepside model with distinctive features, including:
- Chrome front bumper
- Gray rims
- Light-colored repair patch on the driver’s side door
- Light-colored tailgate
Authorities said the collision involved the front right portion of the truck, damaging the passenger-side headlight. Investigators recovered a passenger-side orange turn signal lens at the scene, which is believed to have come from the vehicle.
Police said the driver did not stop to render aid and continued eastbound following the crash.
Evidence and investigation
A passerby captured video footage of the vehicle using a Tesla camera system and contacted 911, providing investigators with additional evidence in the case.
Flores was transported to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, where he remains on life-sustaining medical support as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
