TxDOT Seeks Public Input on Loop 195 Extension to Connect Edinburg to Rio Grande City

Staff Report
Edinburg TX – The Texas Department of Transportation is asking residents in Hidalgo and Starr counties to weigh in on early plans to extend State Loop 195 between Rio Grande City and the Edinburg area.

As part of the process, TxDOT will host a virtual public meeting along with two identical in-person open houses. No formal presentation is scheduled; residents may come and go, review maps and study documents, and speak directly with TxDOT staff and consultants.
The virtual meeting will be available starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, as a pre-recorded presentation at txdot.gov by searching “SL 195 Feasibility Study.”
