Sesame Street–Themed Workshop to Help Parents Navigate Kids’ Digital Habits

Staff Report
Edinburg, TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library will host a hands-on family workshop on Dec. 1 aimed at helping parents guide young children through an increasingly digital world. The program, offered in partnership with Sesame Street, is designed for parents and children ages 3 to 5.
Titled “Raising Kids in a Digital World,” the workshop will feature story time, a puppet presentation and interactive activities that introduce strategies for connecting with children both on and off screens. Library staff said the goal is to help families build healthy digital habits while encouraging engagement beyond technology.
Two sessions will be offered: an English-language session at 10 a.m. and a Spanish-language session at 2 p.m. Parents who participate will receive a certificate of completion.
The event is free and will take place at the library, located at 1906 S. Closner Blvd. For more information, residents may contact the Children’s Department at 956-383-6246.
