Neighbor Charged After Man Stabbed Multiple Times, Police Say

Edinburg, TX – A 25-year-old Edinburg man was arrested Saturday after allegedly stabbing his neighbor multiple times during an argument on the city’s north side, police said.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Carmen Avenue on Dec. 13 for a reported stabbing. When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old man who had been stabbed several times. The victim and the suspect, identified by police as Ryan Rodriguez, are neighbors and “known to each other,” according to investigators.

Police said the two men were involved in an argument when Rodriguez produced a pocket knife and allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times. Rodriguez remained at the scene and surrendered to officers without incident.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and has since been released, authorities said.

Investigators said the two men have a history of ongoing disputes.

Rodriguez was charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $50,000.
