Staff Report

Edinburg, TX – Residents looking for creative, family-friendly activities during the holiday season are invited to visit the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library, where free take-and-make craft kits are available while supplies last.

The City of Edinburg Library and Cultural Arts Department is offering the kits at both the children’s desk and the reference desk. Each kit includes the materials needed to complete a special arts-and-crafts project at home. Library officials noted that kits are limited to one per person and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Library programming and resources

The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library serves as the city’s main public library and a hub for educational, cultural and creative programming for residents of all ages. In addition to hosting year-round events for children, teens and adults, the library maintains a broad collection of books, digital media and learning resources.

As part of the holiday initiative, visitors are encouraged to check out books from the library’s arts and crafts collection to complement the take-and-make kits. Library staff said the goal is to provide accessible, hands-on activities that families can enjoy together during the school break.
