Edinburg, TX – The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce has selected Aaron Nicholas “Nick” Cantu as incoming president of its Board of Directors, elevating a longtime local entrepreneur and downtown advocate to lead the organization’s volunteer board.
Cantu, an Edinburg CISD graduate from Johnny Economedes High School’s Class of 2002, launched his career in real estate after attending the University of Texas–Pan American. He closed his first deal immediately after earning his license and has since built a portfolio that includes CEO of Society 204, broker/owner of Fox Real Estate Pros—sponsoring 66 agents—owner of The Good n Bad Hibachi food truck, and CEO of The Citrus Live, a redevelopment of the historic Citrus Theater into a live entertainment venue.
He previously served as the youngest president of the Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS and now serves as GMAR treasurer and budget committee chair. Locally, he chairs the Edinburg Downtown Steering Committee, a role that aligns with the chamber’s emphasis on small-business development and revitalization in the city’s core.
Cantu and his wife, Jennifer, have established their family in Edinburg with their children, Isabella Nicole and Izekiel Nixon. Chamber officials said his mix of real estate, hospitality and civic experience will guide programming and advocacy for the membership in the year ahead.
The Edinburg Chamber is a nonprofit membership organization that promotes economic vitality through business advocacy, networking, tourism and leadership initiatives.
