Edinburg EDC Nominated for Regional Excellence Award in Economic Development

Edinburg, TX – The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) has been nominated for the Rio Grande Valley Partnership’s Regional Excellence Award in the Economic Development category, a recognition of the city’s growing economy and regional impact.
In 2024, Edinburg recorded $1.9 billion in taxable retail sales and more than $300 million in construction activity, signaling strong growth across business and residential development.
About State of the Region
The nomination is part of the annual State of the Region event, which brings together elected officials, business leaders and community stakeholders to highlight the progress, challenges and opportunities shaping the Rio Grande Valley. The event also serves as the stage for honoring outstanding leaders and organizations making a measurable impact in the region.
This year’s awards recognize excellence in five areas:
- Economic Development
- Education & Workforce Development
- Transportation & Infrastructure
- International Trade
- Healthcare
Voting Process
Community members are invited to support Edinburg by participating in the online voting process. Voters may select one nominee per category, and all submissions require a name and email for verification to ensure fairness and accuracy.
- Voting Period: Sept. 22 – Oct. 17, 2025. Votes submitted after the deadline will not be counted.
- Winners Announced: Dec. 3, 2025, during the State of the Region Luncheon. Award winners will present the State of Their Industry to an audience of elected officials, stakeholders and community leaders.
