EDINBURG, TX — The City of Edinburg’s Cultural Arts Division, conjunction with the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, is inviting filmmakers, business owners and residents to a free workshop designed to highlight the community’s growing role in film production.
The Edinburg On Camera Workshop will take place Saturday, Aug. 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Edinburg ACE Center, 315 W. The program will cover topics such as filming applications and guidelines, location listings, and ways local businesses can partner with productions. It will also highlight vendor resources and opportunities for Rio Grande Valley-based talent, including actors, crew and other creative professionals.
“Film productions not only showcase our community’s character but also support our economy through partnerships with local businesses and talent,” organizers said in a release.
The event will include a presentation and program overview from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by networking with coffee and pastries.
The workshop is being held in partnership with the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and the Edinburg Arts Foundation.
